PingID Multi-factor Authentication

Corewell Health East continues to move applications to its enterprise multi-factor authentication (MFA) software PingID. Numerous single sign-on applications currently authenticate using PingID and additional applications will move to PingID by the end of February 2023.

WHAT’S CHANGING

PingID is replacing Duo for authentication when off the network. All applications will now require PingID except for the following:

  • Use of Duo MFA for Electronic Prescription of Controlled Substances (EPCS)
  • MFA for Epic Haiku and Canto

PingID will now be used to authenticate into the BHapps portal and applications, including Microsoft. PingID allows for push notifications like Duo and does require initial registration. Registration can be completed ahead of time, through a self-service portal, to ensure you do not experience any delays in your workflow.

WHAT’S NOT CHANGING

  • Use of Duo MFA for Electronic Prescription of Controlled Substances (EPCS)
  • MFA for Epic Haiku and Canto
  • How applications are launched
  • Single Sign-On (SSO) and login format
  • Application functionality

NEXT STEPS

  1. Register now for PingID by following the instructions under Getting Started at raic.beaumont.org.
  2. Review the PingID information and resources.
  3. Use PingID when prompted to authenticate when off the network.
  4. Continue to use Duo for EPCS.
